The QLogic®EP2684 and EP2692 controllers from Marvell® deliver industry-leading native Fibre Channel (FC) performance, delivering line rates, 16GFC throughput, and complete hardware offloading with very low CPU usage. This extreme performance eliminates the potential I/O bottleneck in today's powerful multi-processor, multi-core servers that maximize the drive for high-performance storage and flash memory.
QLogic enhanced Generation 5 FC has speeds of up to 16GFC, which is critical for evolving server workloads and I/O aggregation. It also supports features such as FEC, which enhances network reliability and ease of operation.
QLogic's end-to-end data integrity and overlapping Protected domains (OPDs) and support for T10 Protected Information (T10 PI) make EP2684 and EP2692 controllers ideal for enterprise-class storage applications.

The EP2684 and EP2692 Controllers support the recently ratied FC-NVMe (NVMe over Fibre Channel) protocol. The EP2684 and EP2692 Controllers can simultaneously support FC-NVMe and FCP-SCSI storage trafic. NVMe storage offers exceptionally high performance at very low latencies. NVMe works best when coupled with a network that can provide
lossless, low-latency, and high-performing transport. The 2600 Enhanced
Gen5 Controllers bring the best of both worlds by offering the highest
performance and lowest latency access to NVMe and SCSI storage over a
Fibre Channel network.
